Bruce Lee / Way Of The Dragon

The look

Almost a mod cut, Bruce Lee’s hair is based on a classic layered haircut – a good style for oriental hair.

His cut is then very textured on top, which gives it a contemporary feel.

Why it works

Much like modern cuts, Lee’s hair was cropped on top.

It made it stand out then, but it would also allow it to fit in today.

His striking bone structure meant his chopped-up fringe worked too.

A very good cut for oriental hair.

Who it suits

You need very straight hair for this look.

It’s probably best with thicker hair, but works if you have a lot of fine hair too.

How to ask for it

Ask for a classic, basic layered cut.

Your barber should layer and texture your hair, leaving it shorter on top with no parting.

The outline should be left longer and should be cut freehand – allowing the barber to chop into the fringe and hair around the back of the neck, ears and sideburns.

How to look after it

Use a small amount of moulding cream, about the size of five pence piece, to rub through the top to give more texture.
